Woodford County Head Start - Lead Teacher Position Blue Grass Head Start is accepting applications for the position of Lead Teacher at Woodford County Head Start. It is preferred that applicants have a BA in Early Childhood Education, but will consider individuals with an AA who are willing to work towards earning a BA. Applicants should also have experience in teaching preschool children. The position will involve teaching children 3-4 years old and assisting in the encouragement of parent involvement. Those applying should possess a current Driver’s License with a 5-year good driving record. Site Supervisor - Jessamine County Head Start The Blue Grass Head Start Program is accepting applications for the position of Site Supervisor at their center in Jessamine County. This position will be 40 hours per week. Applicants are required to have an AA, BS, or Advanced Degree in Early Childhood Education or development or a Degree in a related field and experience in teaching preschool children. Weatherization Crew Leader Assist with the administration of the Weatherization Crew, in accordance with the approved plans and budget, the general policy guidelines established by the Agency and funding source, and applicable laws, procedures and regulations. Protect the privacy of customers/families and hold in confidence all information obtained in the course of service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the administration and responsibility for Weatherization Crew; implementation, management, oversight and review of Weatherization activities.
  • Achieve appropriate certifications within six (6) months of date of hire.
  • Responsible for the productivity, mentorship and team coaching of Weatherization Crew.
  • Supervise the installation of energy savings measures including lighting, thermostats, CO detectors, attic insulation (batts and blown), caulking, sealing, and weather stripping.
  • Maintain inventory of materials, and order materials for jobs.
  • Inspect, train and evaluate work performed by Weatherization Crew to ensure compliance with program standards, and to assist with quality control procedures.
  • Ensure quality of work from team members.
  • Attend all mandatory training sessions.
  • Fully understands all program requirements and standards.
  • Participate in personal and professional development activities.
  • Work closely with the Director of Community Services and the Weatherization Evaluator in meeting program and overall departmental monthly, quarterly and annual goals and objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work week consist of 4 – 10-hour days (Monday – Thursday).
  • Travel required for 9 County Service Area – Anderson, Boyle, Franklin, Garrard, Jessamine, Lincoln, Mercer, Scott and Woodford Counties. Agency vehicles available to perform job duties.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience air sealing and blown-in cellulose insulation preferred.
  • Preferred Journeyman Electrician 's License.
  • Obtain and maintain all other certifications as necessary.
  • Demonstrated work experience with low income housing programs.
  • Knowledge of residential construction standards and retrofitting.
  • Must have two or more years of Supervisory experience, with ability to make decisions and direct and organize the work of others.
  • Ability to read technical instruments.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, provide proof of insurance, and pass criminal background check and alcohol/drug screening.

Senior Companion Program-Volunteers The Senior Companion Program is an opportunity for persons age 55 and older who meet federal income guidelines to render assistance with activities of daily living to older, homebound adults. As Senior Companions, volunteers assist clients for 20 hours per week and receive a tax-free stipend of $2.65 per hour. This income is not reported as income and will not affect entitlement programs such as food stamps.
